Once upon a time

…there was a girl who liked doing a bit of drama and puppetry to tell young people about Jesus. As she grew older, the girl decided to skill up, and believing God was telling her to move to London to learn how to be a proper actor, she went to a drama school called Mountview, and got a Masters in Performance. After that, she moved to Southampton to work for some people who wrote web content, made films and analysed culture, and there she learned how to write and edit and think theologically about films and books. When God said it was time to move back home, she returned to Scotland and set about establishing a creative arts charity called Foolproof.

Then what happened?

Alongside that, the girl began to do a few Pause for Thought slots on BBC Radio Two. Soon more broadcast opportunities came along, including Thought for the Day on BBC Radio Scotland and Prayer for the Day on BBC Radio Four. She wrote a few plays, acted in a few films and plays, and mentored and trained a few young performers. Later, she learned how to make podcasts, wrote some audio resources, and remembered that she knew how to edit film.

And now?

Eventually she realised that along the way she had picked up a few skills that she could share with others. And now that the girl wasn’t really a girl anymore, but a woman whose calling and gifting had grown over time, she decided it was time to learn how to build a website and remind people of how she might help them. And with that, she lived happily ever after…
